Valley Rovers Win Cork GAA Communications Award

Cork GAA is pleased to announce that Valley Rovers are the winners ofthe Cork GAA Communications Award (Quarter 1 2013) powered by Compu b, in association with Silver Springs Moran Hotel.

This innovative quarterly awards scheme aims to recognise and reward excellence in GAA club communications in Cork, and to provide an incentive for clubs to improve their performance in this area.

This month’s winners collected an Apple iPad, courtesy of sponsors Compu b, which was presented at a function in their honour at Silver Springs Moran Hotel.

Integrated marketing communications agency, Hopkins Communications seeks an out-going, creative and flexible graduate for a minimum 3 month internship- immediate start required.

In exchange for their time, the intern will gain practical experience in public relations and marketing activities in the context of an an independent full-service integrated marketing communications firm head-quartered in Cork (Advertising, Media Buying, Media Production, Public Relations, Crisis Management, Print, Graphic Design, Web Design and Development, New Media, Promotions and Event Management).

The Cork Youth Orchestra are delighted to announce that West-end Star MICHAEL BALL will join the orchestra for two very special concerts in the City Hall Cork, on Sat 8th and Sun 9th of December.

Since making his West End debut 25 years ago as Marius in the original production of Les Miserables, Michael Ball has created a string of leading characters in the West End and on Broadway in shows such as Aspects of Love, Passion, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Phantom of the Opera, Woman In White and Hairspray. He made his debut with the New York City Opera in 2005 in their production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Patience and with the English National Opera in 2007 in their production of ‘Kismet’. His show stopping performance as Edna Turnblad in the West End production of Hairspray earned him the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical in 2008. As associate producer and lead actor in the 2010/2011 touring production of Hairspray, Michael has been reprising his role as Edna across the UK and Ireland. Michael has just completed a six month run of Sweeney Todd which has received rave reviews;

The second bi-monthly Cork GAA Communications Award which aims to recognise and reward excellence in GAA club communications in Cork, and to provide an incentive for clubs to improve their performance in this area has been awarded to Blackrock Hurling Club.

This month’s winners collected an Apple iPad, courtesy of sponsors Compu b, which was presented at a function in their honour at Silver Springs Moran Hotel on September 13th.

Blarney GAA Club wins inaugural Cork GAA Communications Award

The Cork GAA Communications Award is a new and innovative awards scheme which aims to recognise and reward excellence in GAA club communications in Cork, and to provide an incentive for clubs to improve their performance in this area.

The award will be presented bi-monthly at Silver Springs Moran Hotel, with each winning club receiving an Apple iPad courtesy of sponsors Compu b, commencing with the May/June 2012 award.

Blarney GAA Club has an excellent website, http://www.blarneygaa.ie/, which is very well updated and, in addition to very useful content, also includes a number of attractive features to help reach a wider audience, eg Facebook and Twitter integrated into the website and a clearly-visible link to online membership.
