Doug Howlett thrills young rugbyites during Co-Op SuperStores family fun days
Doug Howlett, Munster and New Zealand All-Black’s popular rugby star, was mobbed by enthusiastic young rugbyites when he visited the Co-Op SuperStores Family Fun Day at Raheen, Co. Limerick and Mallow, Co. Cork on Saturday last.
Following the very successful launch at the Co-Op Superstore in Raheen, Co. Limerick and in Mallow, Co. Cork on Saturday last, Doug Howlett said: ‘While I get a great kick out of playing rugby, it means a lot to me to meet people face to face, particularly young sports enthusiasts and their parents who turned out in their hundreds. The Co-Op SuperStores are really welcoming places to come to and have something to offer everyone in the family, hence the great reception we got here and I am looking forward to being at the launch of the Co-Op Superstore in Carrigaline and Midleton on Saturday next, Easter Saturday.’
John O’ Carroll, General Manager for Retail at Dairygold told us: ‘Our Family Fun Day was hugely successful in Limerick and Mallow last weekend. It was almost like a traditional ‘Field Day, or Garden Fete’. Shopping enthusiasts came early to get their hands on the superb range of door busting offers we had available on the day. Our Gardening Expert, Charlie Wilkins, went down a treat and Cora Collins, the interior designer and colour expert was kept very busy with the queries from budding interior designers. The Co-Op SuperStores in Midleton and Carrigaline, Co. Cork are getting geared up for a similar day of family fun on Saturday next. Customers will appreciate our Spring Home and Garden Range on show this week and there’s great value on offer.’
Marking the official launch of the stores under the Co-Op SuperStores brand, celebrations in the Midleton and Carrigaline, Co. Cork stores will include a whole suite of attractions including the Agri-Aware Mobile Farm with live animals, the Dulux Dog, face painters, children’s attractions and lots of in-store demonstrations and advice on all of the latest in DIY, electrical and gardening trends.
Upon discussion of the up-coming launch at the Co-op SuperStore in Carrigaline and Midleton on Easter Saturday, Doug Howlett joked ‘I live in Cork so I expect to meet many of my DIY-loving neighbours there’. Co-Op Superstores is the retail division of Dairygold Co-Op Society Ltd which has recently acquired 7 stores, formerly trading as 4HOME. The company now operates 39 stores across Munster providing a range of Hardware, Household, DIY and Gardening as well as the traditional Agri offering.
