Judy joins the family firm

image text According to Mark Hopkins, Managing Director of Hopkins Communications, when you have grown up surrounded by paper clippings, line drawings, storyboards and reams of discarded pages of scriptwriting, and phones ringing day and night (even though there was an office in the city), it is only natural that you are drawn to the creative industry of your foremothers.

“The Mother Mary was (and is) a huge influence in our lives, as she worked day and night on her advertising and pr ideas, using us as guinea pigs, sounding boards, promotional personnel, bulb changers (for electronic advertising screens) and general dogsbodies as required. Now we are all ‘growed up’ and ‘well able’ there is a certain amount of role reversal going on. Mary is now Chairman, but the quiet/deadly one (i.e. me) runs the company (just marking my territory folks!). Now – lo and behold – the sister-who-used-to-be-a-pest has joined the team at Hopkins Communications as Account Manager – New Media. It happened because she had been biting at our heels for several years, dying to get stuck in to do what is in her bones, and because we know she is well-qualified for the job – see below to be sure to be sure!

So, welcome Judy – as The Mother used to say ‘Let there be no panic – and if there is – let it be organised!’

Mark

PS. While Donogh, Nollaig, Agata, Finbarr, Kathleen, Keith, and Dave have experienced your staying power in the partying category and have deemed you a fit and gas character, they are no doubt looking forward to the familial contretemps which might arise, so button the lip please!
